Explorar y documentar la actividad bloguera y el activismo cibernético a nivel internacional, y destacar la importancia del periodismo ciudadano como fuente de información vital para exponer aquello que tradicionalmente los medios poderosos excluyen, es el más reciente proyecto de Sofía Gallisá Muriente, amiga recientemente graduada de Cine en NYU. Sofía se dirige a grabar un evento internacional sobre estos temas en el que blogueros y activistas se reunirán a compartir sus ideas y experiencias. El resultado será un documental que Sofía describe de la siguiente forma:
"The idea for this film is not just to film the actual summit but to explore the work that online activists do around the world. The importance of citizen journalists is their ability to expose the issues that are ignored by mainstream media and raise international awareness about these situations by sharing them online. What Global Voices does is provide a platform for these ideas to be shared and debated, and protect their right to write them, talk them, film them or approach them through any other means.
My intention is to explore the lives, work and intentions of a group of bloggers and their participation in this summit, using their stories to project an image of blogging and citizen journalism worldwide".
